Japanese-born designer, Momoko Higashifushimi grew up in the parents’ hotel where her father designed the building and the furnishings. Before she started designing Furniture of her own, she worked in luxury fashion industry in New York City including clients such as Calvin Klein, Helmut Lang and Zero+Maria Cornejo as an accessories designer.
Momoko expresses her design in an austere style with a cross between architecture, sculpture and a marriage of texture and contour. She personally selects the construction materials and crafts each object by hand with local artisans in her workshop in Brooklyn.
